***WEEK ONE COLLEGE PICKS***

USC (-21.5) @ Hawaii: USC is by far the superior team here. People forget, but USC can still win a split national championship from the AP this year (something that may very well happen). USC rolls... 44-10

UConn @ Michigan (-2.5): Well its year 3 for Rich Rod and he better win this one. UConn is no pushover and has a shot at winning the Big East this year. Feeling a close game before Michigan opens it up late. Michigan 31 UConn 21

Oregon State-TCU (-13.5): A home game for TCU with the game at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. Add onto that Oregon State always starts slow in September and TCU will make a huge statement on its road to an unbeaten season. TCU 27 Oregon State 6

Boise State-Virginia Tech (+2): I'm not sure how Boise State is preseason #3. Outside of two Fiesta Bowl wins, name another big game Boise has won in the last 5 years. This game reminds me of the Boise-Georgia game a few years ago where the Broncos got blown out. I don't see a blowout here, but a Hokie win. VT 21 Boise State 16

UPSET SPECIAL Maryland (+6)-Navy: Some are calling for Navy to go undefeated this year. However, this is a danger game for Navy. Maryland will be motivated and should surprise in the ACC. Maryland 21 Navy 20.

FIRST ON SPORTS BYTES: ERIC COLLINS & TOM HART JOIN BTN

***Eric Collins and Tom Hart will be a part of the Big Ten Network announce team this fall. Surprisingly, Tom Hart leaves CBS College Sports allowing for Dave Ryan to ascend to the top spot on CBSC games. Meanwhile, Eric Collins' move was more expected as he lost his broadcast partner from a year ago (Brock Huard will now work in a 3-man booth will Carter Blackburn & Mike Belotti) & his time slot (Clay Matvick & Herm Edwards to call 7pm ESPNU games).

Two solid hires by the BTN
